Black Diamond Distortion gives you tools to control the shape of your distortion. Capture the shape from real gear, adjust each harmonic precisely, express it as an equation, draw it freehand, or blend curves together.

Top panel

  1. Menu - global options: init preset, themes, updates, and your account.
  2. Oversampling - 1× to 16×, with a lock to keep your preferred setting.
  3. Preset Browser - click the preset title to browse factory and community presets.
  4. Save Preset - save the current patch to disk.
  5. Undo / Redo - step backward and forward through your edit history.

Mixer

  1. Morph Depth - sets how much the Morph dial modulates this channel.
  2. Morph Dial - the macro that drives Blend, Scan, or Series.
  3. Morph Mode - switch between Blend, Scan, and Series.
  4. Channel Slider - each lane’s level (or stage gain in Series mode).
  5. Channel Label - click to select a channel and open its editor; right-click to rename.
  6. Add / Remove Channel

Curve editor

  1. Curve Editor Options - the mode icons and the current mode’s option row: Brush, Spline, Equation, the Curve Browser, and Harmonic each have their own chapter.

Display

  1. Visualizer - the total distortion curve with your live signal riding on it.

Processing panels

  1. Modulation Section - envelope follower and LFO.
  2. Tone Section - Pre and Post tone stages.
  3. Character Section - hysteresis, bias, and surge.

Bottom panel

  1. Norm - auto-normalize the input signal.
  2. Link - inverse gain linking between input and output.
  3. Dry/Wet Mix - phase-coherent parallel blend.
  4. Input/Output Gain - input gain is your drive control; output gain is the make-up level.
  5. DC Block - removes DC offset from bias and asymmetric curves.
